Calls for Active Military Service Resume on September 1

Mayabeque, Cuba: Young residents in the provinces of Mayabeque, Artemisa, Havana, Isla de la Juventud and Pinar del Río, who will serve in other provinces, will receive basic military training in their respective territories in September.

According to the information note issued by the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR), this process will be carried out observing all the measures established in the plan for confrontation and control of the country’s COVID-19 and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) .

Students who choose to enter Higher Education will join active military service in the months of November and December, after completing the entrance exams at that level, guaranteeing their discharge in August 2021.

The calls to active military service of the young people scheduled to join the FAR and the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), in the second half of this year, are resumed taking into account the need to maintain the country’s defensive capacity, according to the informative note published by the Granma newspaper.
