According to the complaint, the measures even go against the values of openness and freedom proclaimed by the US government.
“We urge the US to correct its error, revoke this decision and provide support and facilities to Chinese diplomatic and consular personnel to carry out their functions?, the note released through its embassy in Washington, added.
The day before, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announced the requirement of authorization for Chinese officials if they wish to visit university campuses and meet with local leaders.
Also from now on they must seek the approval of the White House before holding cultural events with more than 50 people in places outside their headquarters and identify all accounts on social networks as belonging to the Government of the Asian giant.
According to Pompeo, these measures were taken under the argument of reciprocity in bilateral relations.
