President of Cuba highlights possibility of bilateral relationship with the United States.

Cuba: On the morning of November 8, the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, referred to the electoral result in the United States (USA), where Democrat Joe Biden was victorious, after defeating Donald Trump, Diario Granma publishes.

?We recognize that, in their presidential elections, the American people have chosen a new course. We believe in the possibility of a constructive bilateral relationship respectful of differences?, the Cuban president wrote in reference to the new mandate.

Cuba, in this year of elections in the US, suffered the most unjust period of economic, commercial and financial blockade. For the first time, the total amount of damages caused by this policy in one year exceeds the barrier of 5 billion dollars.

Joe Biden, 77, was elected this Saturday as the 46th President of the United States. His running mate, now vice president, is Kamala Harris, with a long career as a lawyer and senator.

Biden had been a senator for nearly four decades and served as the nation’s vice president for both Barack Obama terms. This 2020, he won the victory after exceeding the 270 votes he needed to defeat Trump.

Biden, at the time of his victory, had 284 electoral votes, a number that already totaled 20 for the state of Pennsylvania and previously 11 for Arizona, the AP reported.
