Mayabeque, Cuba: The people of Bejucal celebrate the fifth anniversary of the declaration of the Charangas de Bejucal as intangible heritage of the nation.

?That popular festivity, one of the most traditional and oldest in Cuba, are kept alive in the collective memory of the inhabitants of the town?, this was recognized by the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power of the town, on the occasion of the date and the tenth anniversary of the constitution of the province of Mayabeque.

For this reason, they congratulated personalities and institutions that made possible the distinction of this tradition in its five years.

Among those honored are the Municipal Directorate of Culture, the blue Ceiba de Plata and the red Espina de Oro side, the Drums of Bejucal, and Miriam Gallardo Díaz, who then served as head of the Municipal Administration and was in charge of preparing the file for the declaration.
