Mayabeque, Cuba: Mayabeque will have a Molecular Biology Laboratory for the processing of PCR tests that allow the diagnosis of positive cases for Covid-19.
The Provincial Government Investor, Raúl Cabrera Domínguez, specified that the construction work includes the veneer of the walls, the replacement of the floors and transformations in the hydraulic-sanitary and electricity system.
Cabrera Domínguez added that all the transformations are carried out in order to create the necessary conditions of tightness and the flowchart established to avoid biological risk.
With a cost amounting to one million 500 thousand pesos, the remodeling of this facility is assumed by workers from the Mayabeque Construction Maintenance Companies and they use certified quality materials.
The civil part of this construction work is expected to conclude on February 28, and it will be ready for the assembly of the equipment required to carry out real-time PCR.
The construction of the Molecular Biology Laboratory, the only one in the province, is part of the new national strategy designed to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
