Mayabeque, Cuba_ Members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC), Hermenegildo Piloto Lazo, of San José de las Lajas, carry out several initiatives in honor of the National Rebellion Day, Radio Camoa publishes.
This Thursday they held a meeting dedicated to the personality of Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, where the respect, admiration and affection for him was present.
To pay tribute to Fidel and July 26, ACRC president Conrado Ledón Gutierrez, lieutenant colonel of the reserve, recalled fragments of Words to the Intellectuals, pronounced by the leader of the Cuban Revolution.
During the meeting they recalled the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July 26, 1953, and evaluated the actions they have carried out to contribute to the formation of values, especially in young people, the systematic study of history and preparation to defend the country.
The event also served to recognize the most outstanding combatants in the first half of the year.
