Cuba_ The food and agricultural industries are today two of the most affected in Cuba because of the economic blockade that the United States has maintained against the Island for more than half a century, according to a report prepared by the Cuban chancellery, Radio Reloj reports.

The most recent analysis reveals that during the period from April 2017 to March 2018 the effects amount to more 413 million dollars in this area.

The income that the Island could not dispose of would have facilitated the reinvestment and the creation of a solid infrastructure in the food sector, the report added.

The Cuban government had to make great efforts to achieve the results achieved in terms of food security that, despite the damage caused by the blockade, are recognized by specialized agencies of the United Nations system, the report also argued.
