Moscow: It is impossible to bend Cubans and history demonstrates it today, said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, María Zajarova, when denouncing Washington's aggression against Venezuela and the Caribbean country, Prensa Latina publishes.

The following question arises: did not the whole history of the region, including that of Cuba, teach Americans anything? The steps applied by Washington, especially those linked to the resurgence of humanitarian sanctions against Venezuela and its allies, first of all the Caribbean island, and the comments of US officials, leave much to be desired, Zajarova said.

Thus, the so-called US representative for Venezuela, Elliott Abrams, indicated that the current energy-related measures cause problems for the economy and the social sphere of the Greater of the Antilles, but acknowledged that no one on the island still runs at the foot of United States (USA), he said.

The spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry also denounced the attempt to include the Venezuelan case in an alleged context of regional anti-terrorist struggle for the United States to perform a maneuver that remembers a lot how actions were conceived to destabilize Syria.

In that sense, she warned about the reduction by the White House of the limits of a possible use of the force against Venezuela and recalled the Russian position of frontal opposition to any use or threat of use of violence against that South American country.

Zajarova considered the operation of the negotiating table with the opposition since mid-September to be very favorable, with concrete steps taken by the Venezuelan government, although the radical opposition does everything possible to discredit that process.

In addition, the recalcitrant Venezuelan opposition, said the spokeswoman, disseminates false news as an alleged meeting of Lavrov with the deputy Juan Guaido, investigated for links with criminal groups.

But Russia insists on the need for an internal dialogue of all political forces to seek a peaceful solution to the Venezuelan dispute, reiterated the head of the press department of the Foreign Ministry.
