Paris: The United States (USA) applies against Cuba a blockade with severe consequences for its people, an aggressiveness without reason and impossible to justify, the French deputy Alexis Corbière warned here today.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the parliamentarian of La Francia Insumisa for the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, described as terrible and unfair the economic, commercial and financial fence in force for 60 years, intensified by the current administration in the White House.
"It has consequences for Cubans and their right to a dignified life without a blockade that is perpetuated despite the absence of any reason to do so," he said when less than three weeks remain for a new vote in the General Assembly of the Organization of the United Nations (UN) on a draft resolution submitted by the island in demand for the lifting of the unilateral measure.
Corbière advocated keeping the complaint against the siege of Washington until it ends.
Successive US governments have acted with this aggressiveness towards the island and it is time to make the right decision, he stressed.
