United Nations: The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, reaffirmed in the United Nations Organization (UN), the country's commitment to multilateralism and its rejection of unilateral coercive measures imposed on sovereign nations, such as the US blockade (USA) against the largest island in the Caribbean, the Portal of the Cuban Radio publishes.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a meeting with Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, president of the United Nations General Assembly at its 74th session.
Rodríguez stressed the importance of Cuba's fight against the economic, commercial and financial fence that Washington imposes on it for almost 60 years.
For his part, Muhammad-Bande considered that it is necessary to reduce the sanctions and measures imposed against several member states of the multilateral agency.
"Such actions are not healthy for anyone, and the largest United Nations agency has made clear its position in this regard," he said at the conclusion of the high-level segment of the Assembly.
"We hope to find ways to reduce sanctions: it is not just my point of view, it is what many UN nations ask for”, the Nigerian diplomat said.
During the high-level debate of the Assembly, in September this year, more than 40 countries explicitly expressed their condemnation of the US blockade and expressed solidarity by intervening in the great appointment.
