Havana, Cuba_ The US Deputy National Security Adviser, Benjamin Rhodes, paid an official visit to Cuba as part of preparations for the upcoming trip of President Barack Obama, who is scheduled to arrive in Havana tomorrow, Prensa Latina reports.
Rhodes led a team of high ranking White House officials taking part in the organization of the visit and was able to verify the efforts being made by authorities from both countries for the successful development of the events.
President Obama will visit Cuba on March 20-22. This is the first time a US president comes to Cuba after the triumph of the Revolution of 1959. Only Calvin Coolidge did it in 1928.
This event comes in the wake of announcement of Presidents Raul Castro and Barack Obama on Dec. 17, 2014, of the start of the process towards normalization of bilateral links.
