Mayabeque, Cuba: About 40 thousand mayabequenses parade this May Day on 40th Street in San José de las Lajas, provincial headquarters of the activities for the International Workers Day.

The workers’ movement comes to the celebration of the anniversary, after the realization of the XXI Congress of the Cuban Workers’ Federation (CTC) in Spanish, from which among other objectives, arise the goal of working for the reduction of imports, the increase of food production and improving the quality of services.

The parade begins with the presidency, followed by Combatants of the Revolution and members of the Young Communists League (UJC).

The first trade union bloc is made up of 3000 workers from the Public Health sector, protagonists of humanistic work in several parts of the world, recognized for their talent and generosity.

In total there are 20 blocs representing all the unions, people carry flags, banners and perform allegorical initiatives to the celebration of the world proletariat.

After the conclusion of the parade there will be an agricultural fair and at the end the workers will enjot the performing of El Niño y la Verdad in the Cultural Plaza of the Micro neighborhood.
