Santiago de Cuba_ As a greet to the 57 anniversary of the Young Communists League (UJC) and the 58 of the Organization of Pioneers José Martí (OPJM) this April 4 will take place the launching of the Call to the 11th Congress of the UJC in Birán, Holguin, by the First Secretary of the National Committee of the organization, Suselys Morfa, in national act at 7:30 am, e Sierra Maestra newspaper publishes.
The announcement was known in a meeting held by the national secretary with all the general secretaries of Santiago de Cuba, where the agreements of the X Congress, its results and those still pending to be fulfilled were analyzed.
It will be the first time, that the launch of a Congress will take place one year before it takes place, since this will be held on April 4, 2020. It is important to highlight, the reason for choosing Birán as a historic site to launch the call, in these lands were born two great men of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel and Raúl Castro, there they had their first anxieties and desire for the freedom of the Homeland, they carried out the dream of so many Cubans.
That is why the young Cubans want to honor them by calling our grand event from there.
The UJC urges to attend in mass to the provincial act of Santiago de Cuba that is going to take place in the Plaza de la Revolución at 7:30 am and from there listen to the words of Suselys Morfa, then the assistants will go on the march until Santa Ifigenia Patrimonial Cemetery to pay homage to the heroes and martyrs of the Homeland.
During the day there will be several activities commemorating the date, in all the parks and squares of the city.
According to the youth leader, in Cuba there are 30,000 members of the UJC, therefore, so it is necessary to work more so these young people to be examples for the society and get more involved in the historical sense and the moment we are living, but not only them but the young people in general.
"I confirm the trust in young people from Santiago and encourage them to defend the Revolution until they are asleep. We must grow in the communist youth, we are today and we respect the yesterday’s generation that is why we have to give the Cuban Communist Party (PCC well-trained young people. We must reach the XI Congress with a more committed youth”, she said.
