Havana_ The Telecommunications Company of Cuba S.A. (Etecsa) and the US company Google today signed a memorandum of understanding in this capital to continue negotiations on Internet traffic, Prensa Latina reports.
The document signed by the head of Google Cuba, Brett Perlmutter, and the Vice President of Investment of Etecsa, Luis Adolfo Iglesias, allows continuing the joint work in the exchange of traffic, technically known as Peering, in order to improve access to the net of networks on the Island.
Both parties specified that the intention reflected in the memorandum will be materialized when the technical conditions allow it.
The text is the second signed by Etecsa and Google, after the agreed in December 2016 for the launch of the Google Global Cache service, in operation since April 2017.
The entities added that the new document ratifies the interest of US companies in conducting business with Etecsa.
