Havana_ The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, begins today an intense agenda here as part of his official visit to Cuba, which includes meetings with authorities of the Island, Prensa Latina reports.

According to the program disclosed, the visitor will be received by the host head of state, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the president of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo.

In addition, he will pay tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, in the memorial that bears his name in this capital, and to African heroes in a Havana park that honors them.

As part of the planned visit until next Friday, the president of Ghana will offer a keynote address in the main hall of the University of Havana, founded in 1728 by the Dominican friars belonging to the Order of Preachers.

The visitor is expected to take a tour of the Historic Center of Havana, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1982.

The visit of the African Head of State to the Antillean nation will take place in the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Ghana.
