Havana, Cuba: Cuban Head of State Miguel Diaz-Canel checked this Thursday, the State Plan to address climate change, called Tarea Vida (Life Task) and the program to stop the deterioration of the documentary heritage of Cuba, Radio Reloj publishes. 

The follow-up is part of a work system where more than twenty programs of impact on the development of the country are regularly checked.

Colonel Manuel Lama Gómez, head of the Cuban Ranger Corps, explained that the actions related to the Life Task are aimed at not allowing illegalities in the territorial ordering of coastal settlements threatened by sea level rise.

Lama Gómez explained that other points to take into account are the protection of mangroves and marine ecosystems; as well as strengthening the early warning system for forest fires.

As a priority of the Cuban Government has been defined the preservation of the historical memory, for that reason, each month is held in the Palace of the Revolution a meeting that reviews certain issues that contribute to the goal of stopping the deterioration of heritage documentary film.

Precisely this Thursday was analyzed the Institutional System of University Archives that adds 43 years of creation and conserves valuable documentation on Cuban higher education in good state of conservation.

Among the main results of the work was the new location of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Higher Education and the digitalization of the funds in 14 entities of the Ministry.

At the same time, difficulties such as the insufficient equipment, the premises that do not have the conditions that require this type of tasks and the completion of the personnel were pointed out.
