Havana: Cuba and Venezuela will resume today in this capital the negotiation process of two migratory agreements during the fourth round of talks on the subject, Prensa Latina reports.
The delegations of both nations will work on two memoranda of understanding, one on 'migratory matter' and another one on 'exchange of migratory alerts and security information', says a press release from the embassy of the Caribbean island in Caracas.
The diplomatic authorities also said that the agreements will serve as "effective mechanisms for the control of migration and the fight against illegal human trafficking”.
During the dialogue, the parties will reaffirm the will and commitment of the two governments to take joint actions to strengthen cooperation in the field of migration in order to guarantee a regular, orderly and safe flow of travelers.
The exchange will be led by the Cuban side by the general director of Consular Affairs and of Cuban Residents Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ernesto Soberón, and by the Venezuelan part, the vice chancellor for the Caribbean, Raúl Li Causi.
The previous round of talks on migration between Cuba and Venezuela took place in Havana in June 2018, with a similar road map.
