Havana, Cuba: With the presence of Army General Raul Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, began today the Second Special Session of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of Popular Power, where this April 10, the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba will be proclaimed.
After singing the National Anthem, 21 salvos launched from the fortress of La Cabana were heard and in a moment of extraordinary symbolism a group of mambises made its entry into the plenary hall carrying the Constitution of Guaimaro, first revolutionary Constitution proclaimed 150 years ago, a day like today.
Endorsed with the positive vote of six million 816 thousand 169 voters, the Constitution has 229 articles, 11 titles, two special provisions, 13 transitory and two final.
The Cuban leader expressed on this day through his twitter account that on April 10, 1869, the Revolution entered the Republic according to MartÃ. Neither Cuba nor History will ever forget that the one who came to be first in the war began being the first to demand respect for the law.
