Bayamo, Cuba: The XXIII National Congress of History which includes analysis, lectures, panels and workshops from science, begins today at the Bayamo Theater in the capital city of Granma,reports Radio Reloj.

The president of the National Union of Historians of Cuba, Jorge Luis Aneiros, said that this event is dedicated to the bicentennial of Céspedes, and has four essential thematic lines, among which highlight the formation of the nationality and the 150th anniversary of our struggles for the independence.

The theoretical and methodological problems in the teaching of history, the cultural processes in the Revolution, the internationalist missions and the work that has been carried out since 1959 are core issues of the National Congress of History.

Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in the history of the Cuban nation is the panel that continues today at the official opening of the Congress in Bayamo.
