Havana: The Presidency of Cuba today concluded the first stage of the electronic government on the Island, consisting of the presence of ministries and other entities on the Internet through websites, Prensa Latina reports.
In its Twitter account, the Presidency of the Republic specified that the issue was addressed in a recent meeting headed by the head of state, Miguel Diaz-Canel, to discuss the advances in the computerization of society, one of the priorities of its management.
With the closing of the first phase, the second one begins, aimed at ensuring that these digital platforms not only provide information, but guarantee interaction with citizens.
According to a summary published in different media, in the meeting chaired by Diaz-Canel, the Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo, said that it is now necessary to develop the stage of interactivity with the population from the websites, in which the greatest challenge lies in the design of the procedures in a sprightly manner.
The minister considered essential to continue advancing in the electronic government to promote the computerization of the public records of the country.
Among the most complex elements to be developed during this new phase, it was mentioned that special attention should be paid to the downloading and uploading of document templates, fundamentally in the services and procedures offered by the agency or entity in question.
Another important aspect for the success of the e-government and the computerization of society in general, is to advance in the area of the cyber security.
In this regard, the meeting followed up on the measures adopted in that direction by the Council of Ministers.
President Diaz-Canel indicated that he should prioritize the issue and work on the preparation of the leaders in charge of strengthening security in the net of networks.
