Santiago de Cuba, Cuba_ Women and residents from the mountains of the Segundo Frente, together with leaders of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), will remember Vilma EspÃn, celebrating the 87th anniversary of her birthday today, Radio Reloj publishes.
In the mausoleum of Mayarà Arriba, where are the remains of heroes and martyrs of that guerrilla front commanded by Raúl Castro, will be carried out the homage to the eternal president of the FMC in the name of the Cuban people.
Among the activities of remembrance in Santiago de Cuba was held this Thursday at the Memorial Vilma EspÃn the V Workshop The Cuban Woman and her vision of the new generation, chaired by Teresa Amarelle, secretary general of that women's organization.
The event featured about 40 research projects of young people from Santiago about the legacy of Vilma and the role of women in the Revolution.
