Havana, Cuba_ Scientists, physicians, nurses, technical personnel and other health specialists will have the possibility to exchange their views and experiences with international colleagues at Cuba-Health 2018 International Convention, Granma newspaper publishes today.

The Organizing Committee stated that this convention, under the motto: 'Universal Health for Sustainable Development,' and to be held from April 16-20, 2018, will be attended by a large number of experts from 30 nations.

Under the leadership of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, its institutions, and the importer and exporter of medical products MEDICuba, national delegates from all over the island and from all levels of care will participate in the event.

In a press conference, Ileana Morales, Cuba-Health 2018 executive secretary, said this event was an excellent opportunity to debate among professionals worldwide.

Health goes through several of the objectives of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. Incorporating countries, technology and innovations to meet this challenge is one of the objectives, she stressed.

The scientific committee president, Pastor Castell, said the motto of the event had a great importance.

“Universal health is what has always characterized a system that guarantees health access to everybody. When we talk about universal health, it means medical care to everyone and not only related to the healing process, but also to prevention, he stressed.

This mega event, to be held at the Havana International Conference Center, will give participants the chance of tackling down on a number of issues, including equitable access to health services, international development cooperation, advances and challenges for disease prevention and control, among others.
