Havana, Cuba_ The People's Exercise of Actions in Meteor Disaster Cases 2017 begins, under the premise of advancing in the preparation of the population and state institutions against high-intensity earthquakes, hurricanes, severe and extensive droughts, as well as disasters of sanitary origin, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

During Saturday’s day, the leadership and control bodies at the different levels will evaluate the fulfillment of the tasks undertaken during the last year, aimed at reducing the risk in the territories, agencies and economic entities, given the presumed occurrence of any of the mentioned contingencies

They will also analyze the modeling of the probable impact of the main disasters to which the Cuban archipelago is exposed, according to the results of the studies of danger, vulnerability and risks completed so far.

Practical demonstration exercises will focus on reducing vulnerabilities in high-risk communities, educational centers, commercial centers and factories.

Meteoro 2017 takes place a few days before the start of the cyclonic season in the tropical Atlantic basin the coming June 1st.
