Cuba__ Participants in a seminar on the work of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV) and the Cuban organization described it as helpful, and noted the strong ties of friendship and solidarity between both nations, Prensa Latina reports.

In the closing session, the member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and head of its delegation to this two-day meeting, José Ramón Balaguer, stressed that the meeting allowed to deepen their mutual experience and learn about practical actions which serve as an element of study and analysis in the construction of Socialism.

This event demonstrates that, despite the complex international scenario, both parties remain identified in the struggle for peace, defense, sovereignty of our States and self-determination of our peoples, he said.

The visiting party explained elements of the updating process of the Cuban economic and social model, on which Balaguer stated that it maintains the objective of building a sovereign, independent, socialist, democratic, prosperous and sustainable nation based on the concept of Revolution explained by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

Meanwhile, Ta Ngoc Tan, a member of the Executive Committee of the PCV Central Committee and director of the National Academy of Policy Ho Chi Minh, said that the results of this meeting will be studied and also presented to the Political Bureau with a view to reinforcing experiences in the socialist construction, as well as in the bilateral relations.

The deputy director of the Center for Sociopolitical Studies and Public Opinion, Olga Yipsi González, praised the quality of the debates, from which she stressed that 'much is learned'.

The official, who presided over the last session on the Cuban side, stated in the conclusions that this exchange reveals points of coincidence, strengths, based on the achievements, and also the issues in which they must continue working.

Titled 'Orientations for socio-economic development and tasks for political-ideological work in the documents of the XII PCV and VII PCC congresses, held in January and April 2016, in that order, the seminar included the discussion of several papers related to these issues.

This was the third meeting of its kind, the previous ones were held in 2012 and 2014, while the next one will be held in Cuba.

The meeting is part of a program initiated on Monday, when the Cuban delegation held talks with party officials, including the chairman of the PCV Central Committee's Foreign Relations Committee, Hoang Binh Quan.

The day before, they attended the ceremony where the new president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, Truong Thi Mai, a member of the Political Bureau and head of the Department of Mass Mobilization of the organization, was introduced.

In that event was also present her predecessor, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, also a member of the Political Bureau of the PCV and now head of the National Assembly.
