Havana, Cuba__ The president of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, will arrive in Cuba on an official visit during which he will meet with several authorities, Prensa Latina reports.

The also secretary general of the Polisario Front has been head of state since 2016, and recently met with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina in which the latter ratified the Island's support for the Saharawi people's struggle for their right to self-determination and independence.

In a congratulatory message to his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro, on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, Ghali reiterated his country's commitment to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations and emphasized the importance of the legacy of Commander in chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, for the oppressed countries of the world.

Cuba and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic established diplomatic relations in January 1980, and currently their main areas of collaboration are health, education and food supply.
