Cuba__ Authorities of the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba and of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, signed in Havana, a memorandum of understanding for the effective control of containers at the border, Radio Reloj reports.

With the signing of the legal instrument, the Global Container Control Program, an initiative promoted by the World Customs Organization, will be materialized in the country, seeking to increase security in trade and prevent drug trafficking and other illegal acts.

William Pérez, deputy chief of the entity, and Bob Van Den Bergher, representative of the world organization, signed the document, which also includes aspects related to technical assistance.

According to Perez, the signing of this memorandum ratifies Cuba’s will to combat drug trafficking and other illegalities that threaten the security of the country.
