Caracas_ The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced "necessary changes" within his Executive Cabinet to address and develop the stabilization plan of the electricity service in the country, which has been subject to severe attacks from the national and international right during the last days, the website of Cubadebate publishes.
In this regard, he appointed electrical engineer Igor Gavidia as Minister of Popular Power for Electric Power and president of the National Electric Corporation, replacing Major General Luis Motta Dominguez, whom he thanked for his efforts at the head of both institutions.
Likewise, the Head of State communicated the reactivation of the Ministry of Science and Technology (which was part of the Popular Power Ministry for University Education) and appointed Freddy Brito Maestre as Minister.
President Maduro also announced the reactivation of the Electric General Staff presided over by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, and of the General Staff of each entity of the country chaired by the governors.
During the day, the president also created the Executive Secretariat of the Electric General Staff, which will be headed by the Minister of Popular Power for Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol.
"It should work 24 hours a day, in coordination, review and permanent action," he exhorted.
During his speech, in joint transmission of radio and television, Maduro informed that tomorrow the academic activities will be reinitiated progressively at its various levels throughout the country.
"Next Wednesday, under the leadership of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education (...) we will return to classes, schools, high schools, colleges and universities, progressively, gradually," he said.
The president called on social movements, student federations, the Venezuelan education workers' union to return to classes, to return to the progress of education and the culture of the country.
