United Nations_ Under the theme ''Threat of De Facto Annexation: What Next for Palestine?, a forum will be held at UN on Thursday to also analyze the most recent events in that territory occupied by Israel, Prensa Latina reports.

The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People organizes this event focused on one of the threats to that Arab people facing the expansion of Tel Aviv, which builds illegal settlements in the occupied territory.

UN special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov repeatedly warns that Israel continues to build communities in the West Bank and East Jersulem, which are illegal according to the international law and is an obstacle to peace.

It also warns of the continued Tel Aviv actions aimed at annexing Cisjordania.

Palestinian ambassador to the UN Riad Mansur recently called on the Security Council to fulfill its obligations and demand an end to the impunity of Israel's actions.

This 15-member body, charged with ensuring peace and security, should not look the other way in the face of aggression and violations against the Palestinian people, and should ask the Tel Aviv Government to render account for it, he said.

Besides, this is an urgent matter to avoid another massacre in the Gaza Strip and to preserve human lives, said the diplomat in reference to the protests carried out by the Palestinians at this time against the occupation, known as the Great Return March.

The United Nations urged Israel to prevent further violent incidents in Gaza, and thus avoid a tragedy similar to last year's, in which 189 Palestinians were killed.

After more than 50 years of illegal Israeli occupation and repression of the Palestinian people, the situation in Gaza and Cisjordania is worsening every day for the civilian population, which is stripped of its ancestral territories and suffers the shortage caused by the blockades of Tel Aviv, the reports said.

The creation and recognition of the Palestinian State is one of the longest pending issues in the UN, although the State of Israel has already existed for 70 years.
