La Paz: The Minister of the Presidency of Bolivia, Juan Ramon Quintana, considered rude and arrogant the meddling attitude of the United States, whose government and institutions pretend to give the world lessons of democracy.

Quintana, who unequivocally rejected a US Senate resolution issued this week against the candidacy of President Evo Morales to the October general elections, called it a gross intervention 'against our country and historical process'.

"With all the energy, integrity, and political strength, we reject and repudiate this imperial rudeness', declared the Bolivian Minister, reiterating his Government's position regarding any external meddling in Bolivian political affairs.

Quintana recalled that the United States has historically tried to solve its internal problems by 'waging war against our peoples,' this Friday reproduced the state-owned TV station Bolivia TV.

The US Senate resolution aims to violate Bolivia's sovereignty and attack the principle of non-interference and respect for the democratic will of the people, enshrined in the UN Charter, condemned, for his part, Thursday President Evo Morales in Twitter.

Morales stated in his comment that the Bolivian people are free and dignified, and reject all forms of meddling in internal affairs.

'The U.S. has no morals to speak of respect for human rights, and now its Senate speaks of respect for democracy in Latin America,' the Head of State complained.
