Washington: US President Donald Trump said Congress cannot impeach him for the findings of the Mueller report on Russia's electoral meddling and the president's alleged attempts to hinder the investigation.

"Only serious crimes and minor infractions can lead to impeachment. I did not commit any crime, or collusion, or obstruction, so you cannot perform an impeachment to dismiss me”, said Trump on his Twitter account.

"It was the Democrats who committed the crimes, not your Republican president! Finally the tortilla of the Witch Hunt is turning! ", he added with euphoria.

When asked by reporters if he was worried about the possibility of impeachment, as part of an official Easter event at the White House, Trump replied: "Not even a little bit."

A 400-page document summarizing the findings of the 22-month investigation carried out by special prosecutor Robert Mueller about the Russian plot, released Thursday, absolved Trump from having colluded with Moscow officials in his campaign for the presidency in 2016, but left open the doubt about whether he had obstructed justice.
