Moscow: The Federal Security Service (FSB) announced today the elimination of a clandestine cell of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist movement in the outskirts of this capital, Prensa Latina reports.

During the operation the FSB found ammunition, firearms, extremist literature and electronic media for the collection of information were seized, according to the capital television.

Among the seven members of the cell created in 2016 are Russian citizens from the Caucasian area of ​​this country and the Central Asian region, and their task was to recruit personnel for the EI.

The main mission of the IS is to unify by force all Muslims to create a World Islamic Caliphate.

On the 25th the FSB has arrested an IS member in the city of Nalchik, in the Russian republic of Kabardina-Balkaria.

The Russian authorities found in the house of the involved elements a homemade bomb with which he intended to carry out an attack of great resonance, extremist literature and other evidence of his involvement in the preparation of an attack.

On April 13th, the Prosecutor's Office announced the investigation of the case of an IS cell, eliminated, after offering resistance to the security forces, in the Tiumen region.

Witnesses said that when the anti-terrorist action was taken, the authorities suspended the water, electricity and electricity service, as well as evacuated the residents of the district of Kalín, where the radicals were located.

In the house, bought last March and where the terrorist cell was located, two homemade bombs and components were found, two Kalashnikov automatic rifles and religious literature.
