Chile: After 40 days of police repression of protesters and more than 11,500 wounded, the Chilean Government admitted the violation of human rights in those events that began on October 18, Radio Reloj reports.
The Human Rights Watch organization, invited by President Sebastián Piñera himself, reported serious human rights violations that the Government has not been able to ignore despite previous complaints from international organizations and personalities, which he evaded.
However, the tendency to minimize police violence is maintained in official circles, while political sectors and the social movement claim to go beyond the reform of the repressive apparatus and demand justice and reparation for victims.
The communist deputy Karol Cariola warned that these allegations reinforce the constitutional accusation against Piñera, as the head of the repression unleashed.
