Paris_  President François Hollande confirmed today that the transfer of power to his successor, Emmanuel Macron, will take place next Sunday, just the day that by law his mandate expires, Radio Reloj publishes.

According to the outgoing head of state May 14 is the date for the ceremony in which the leader of On March will assume his five-year term.

Macron, the youngest president in French history, won the second round of the election on Sunday with 66.1 percent of support, while rival, right-wing Marine Le Pen, was 33.9 percent.

Hollande saluted the triumph of his former Minister of Economy from 2014 to 2016, wished him the very best for his term and expressed his support if case he needs any information or advice.
