Jakarta_ Chile's aspirations to consolidate its already promising ties with Asia Pacific will now find new spaces in Indonesia and China, with the visit of President Michelle Bachelet, Prensa Latina reports.

Accompanied by parliamentarians, businessmen and his foreign minister, Heraldo Muñoz, Bachelet will fulfill in this capital a tight agenda that includes a meeting with her counterpart Joko Widodo, and another approach with the Asean.

The Asean, founded in 1967 and made up of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, included Chile last year under the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

The reflectors of the dialogue between Bachelet and Widodo will be the deepening of cooperation and exchange agreements, with the possibility of a visa exemption arrangement for diplomatic and service passports, as well as the wishes of both parts to complete the Commercial Cooperation Agreement (CEPA).

But beyond that, the views of Chile, along with Argentina, the only Latin American guests to the First Conference of the Strip and the Beijing Route, are deposited in the Asian giant, with which they have a relevant Free Trade Agreement.

For the third consecutive year, the economic experts of the South American nation prepare the Chileweek, a promotional activity that will touch several Chinese cities in August and September to come.
