Latin America and the Caribbean join the global campaign I'm With Nature, with different citizen initiatives dedicated to celebrate World Environment Day, according to Prensa Latina.

In a statement, the United Nations Environment Program calls on the international community to join the global campaign, under the slogan Connecting People to Nature.

To celebrate the date, each nation promotes its own initiatives. The Symposium Ecos de Rio 92 analyzed the environmental challenges in Brazil, 25 years after the Earth Summit.

In addition, at the Itaipú dam, the largest on the planet, shared by Brazil and Paraguay, an international seminar was held on the event.

The International Film Festival of Mexico dedicated to this theme launched its itinerant exhibition, which will cover 70 cities in the country.

It also opened an Environmental Observatory in Uruguay to facilitate citizens' access to information on the evolution of the environment.
