Caracas_ The application process for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) of Venezuela culminates today with the delivery of the data of the candidates and the formalization of the applications, according to Sandra Oblitas, vice president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Prensa Latina reports.

However, the delivery of the signatures that support those applications was extended until Monday, the official said.

Oblitas added that this Saturday, the more than 55,000 Venezuelans who participated in the pre-candidacy process must record on a compact disc the identity card and the affidavit of residence in the South American country.

In the case of the postulated for the Community Council sector and Comunas, it is necessary the proof that certifies them as spokesperson of these popular instances.

She also said that once this phase is completed, the municipal boards will have until June 15 to evaluate the requirements and collections.

Subsequently, she said, they will proceed to the admission or rejection of applications, depending on compliance with the requirements.

In the process 545 constituents will be chosen, of which 364 will come from the territories and 181 of the sectors, divided into peasants and fishermen, communes and communal councils, students, pensioners, entrepreneurs, indigenous peoples and the community of persons with some physical disability.

The vice president of the CNE recalled that the workers and students need a thousand signatures to endorse their candidacies and the rest of the sectors only 500.

Regarding the representatives of the communal councils, Oblitas said that it is important that they submit the certification of the electoral commission of that entity to confirm their work as spokesperson.
