Vietnam_ The top leaders of Vietnam sent congratulatory messages to the president of Cuba, Raúl Castro Ruz, on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, Cubasí reports. 

The letters to the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba were issued by the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong; President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

For her part, the president of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, congratulated Esteban Lazo Hernández, while the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Pham Binh Minh, did it to Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.

The just concluded year witnessed the strengthening of the historic bonds of friendship between the two countries, which on December 2 celebrated in the respective capitals the 57th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

In 2017 there was an intense exchange of high-level delegations and in October the XXXV Session of the Intergovernmental Commission was held in Hanoi, which formalized cooperation issues for 2017-2018.

Vietnam is the second most important commercial partner of Cuba in Asia and Oceania and the tenth in the world. The bilateral trade exchanges exceed 230 million dollars.

Whipped this year by hurricanes that left great human and material losses, the two countries exchanged messages of solidarity. In the case of Vietnam, it donated a thousand tons of rice to the Island, and several of its companies sent material aid.

With the sponsorship of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, an act was held yesterday at the embassy of the Caribbean nation for the 59th anniversary of the Revolution, with the assistance of doctors, technicians and students who fulfill their mission in these lands.
