Mayabeque, Cuba_ Lianna de la Caridad Montero in the 55 kilograms, will participate in the Youth Pan American Fighting Championship, scheduled in Lima, Peru, from June 9 to 11.

Guines’ athlete with satisfactory results in national lines and outside the Island will have the opportunity to represent the province and the country.

Cuba intends to attend the upcoming World Youth Championship in the women's sector, according to the methodology of the National Commission of the discipline, Manuel Rodríguez.

For that, Lianna de la Caridad Montero, Yudaris Sánchez and Mabelkis Capote will participate in the event, scheduled in Lima, Peru, under the tutelage of the coach Filiberto Delgado, who assumed the direction of the women's group.

Rodríguez commented that budget problems threaten these tournaments, but he thinks that this year Cuba will participate with one of the girls who are preparing for the Olympic cycle that ends in Tokyo 2020.

The female branch has not disputed in this type of events, and the men participated more than ten years ago.

The presence of the girls there, give the right to compete later in the World Cup, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from August 1 to 6, although it depends on the budget to decide if they take the three, two or one.

Last year in the continental tournament a medal of each color was obtained, and the purpose now is at least to repeat that result, under the direction of the coach Filiberto Delgado, who assumed this 2017 the direction of the femile collective.

Next to the Mayabense will intervene Yudaris Sánchez in the 67 and Mabelkis Capote in 72 kilograms.
