Cuba intends to attend the upcoming World Youth Championship in the women's sector, according to the methodology of the National Commission of the discipline, Manuel RodrÃguez.
For that, Lianna de la Caridad Montero, Yudaris Sánchez and Mabelkis Capote will participate in the event, scheduled in Lima, Peru, under the tutelage of the coach Filiberto Delgado, who assumed the direction of the women's group.
RodrÃguez commented that budget problems threaten these tournaments, but he thinks that this year Cuba will participate with one of the girls who are preparing for the Olympic cycle that ends in Tokyo 2020.
The female branch has not disputed in this type of events, and the men participated more than ten years ago.
The presence of the girls there, give the right to compete later in the World Cup, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from August 1 to 6, although it depends on the budget to decide if they take the three, two or one.
