Mayabeque, Cuba_ An intensive campaign to prevent diseases transmitted by mosquitoes Aedes Aegypti and albopictus, will begin on May 31 in San Jose de las Lajas with the support of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), announced Nolis Alfonso Suarez, official of the Municipal Directorate of Public Health, Radio Camoa reports.

The specialist said that this is a similar strategy to that applied in 2016, which includes adulticide treatment or fumigation as it is also known in urban areas in the North, South and Jamaica Popular Councils.

The study of febrile cases, the control of travelers from the outside to the territory and the actions of the operators of the vector campaign in the residential zones will be intensified to identify, eliminate and counteract the mosquitoes' foci.

The health’s authorities call on the population to collaborate with these tasks whose success depends on keeping the municipality free of dengue, zica and chikungunya.
