Mayabeque, Cuba: The provincial event of scenic arts "Mayabeque en escena", was inaugurated this Thursday in San José de las Lajas.

The event, which takes place from 11 to 13 April, is dedicated to the 50 years of the storytellers, the 30 of the declaration of Güines as the circus city of Cuba and the 15 years of Mayabeque folkloric ballet, Orisha Oko.

The opening day featured the presentation of this company on the cultural balcony of the Agrarian University of Havana Fructuoso Rodríguez, with the show "A dream come true", under the artistic direction of Leonel Menéndez.

In the afternoon, the theater group Estro de Montecallado, delighted the audience with the presentation of Bandolero y mala sangre, by Venezuelan Gustavo Hoz, under the direction and staging of José Miguel Díaz (Jochi). Israel Guerra stars in this work, telling us the relationship between two brothers, bringing to light the human drama in stages of social crisis, through his gestures and performances.

During these days in San José de las Lajas, people will be able to enjoy an ample program that includes the presentation of the Sabor Latino group and on Saturday, during the closing day at the Lajero fairgrounds there will be the performance of the children of La Colmenita.
