Mayabeque, Cuba__ The municipalities of Madruga and Santa Cruz del Norte and San Antonio de los Baños, belonging to Artemisa, will be honored during the new edition of the International Danzón Festival Habana 2017, which will take place in the Cuban capital and other provinces, from June 21 to 25, an event organized by the Musicians Association of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).

From the above mentioned places are natural José Urfé, Antonio María Romeu and the brothers Raimundo and Pablo Valenzuela, who gave the genre its definitive profile.

Also the contest will be dedicated to the Mexican states of Yucatan, Veracruz, Campeche and Quintana Ru.

In the event under the motto From Danzon, to Mambo and Chachacha in the centennial of Dámaso Pérez Prado, they will pay tribute to Paulina Álvarez, Empress of Danzonete, and Aniceto Díaz, creator of that musical genre, and will remember the centenary of the arrival of the danzón from Cuba to Yucatan.
