Mayabeque, Cuba_ Yenifer Ruiz, a swimmer from San Jose de las Lajas, aged eight, won two gold medals, one in the 50m freestyle and one in the backstyle.

She also achieved a bronze in the 50 meters free legs, in the thirtieth edition of the Marcelo Salado International Swimming Cup.

The contest took place in the pool complex of Havana’s Sport City. In the male branch Mario David Castillo was second place in 50 meters legs back and free, while Javier García González was second and third in those modalities respectively.

Nelson García, provincial commissioner of the discipline, highlighted the performance of Nelson García González, who won the fourth place in the category of 13-14 years, representing the Marcelo Salado National School.
