Mayabeque, Cuba_ The athlete Jorge Frank Rojas Valdés from Mayabeque won a gold medal in the national event of Sport Shooting for disabled people, held in Sancti Spíritus.

Ileana María Aguiar García, coach of the discipline in Güines, stressed that the young man is well prepared and made accurate shots to accumulate points and climb to the top of the podium.

According to Regla Armenteros Herrera, sports promoter of the Cuban Association of Physical-Motor Limits in the demarcation, all the provinces, except Camagüey, Artemisa and Guantánamo, participated in the competition.

The small delegation of only three athletes included two in the first category, Diosbel Pérez Luis, Bejucal, Rosbel Manuel Arcia Matos, Güines, and the disabled Jorge Frank Rojas Valdés, in the modality of Fusil, 10 meters.

Diosbel Pérez Luis was pre-selected to integrate the national team in the Rifle modality, and Rosbel Manuel Arcia Matos, participated in Shot with pistol.

Mayabeque had not attended such a competition since 1994.
