Mayabeque, Cuba_ The baseball players Denis Laza and Luis Manuel Castro Ortiz are among the players of the pre-selection of the Cuban team to the Canadian League of Baseball.

San Jose de las Lajas’ outfielder Denis Laza and pitcher Luis Manuel Castro Ortiz from  Güines are the only ones in the young province included among the 37 that will be concentrated in a few days.

Laza was recently honored at the Cuban Ball Champions Gala held in Granma for his inclusion in the All-Star teams of the 56th National Series, both for the offense and for the defense.

Luis Manuel was the best pitcher of Mayabeque in the last National Classic and therefore he was chosen for the All-Star Game. In this moment he is participating in the IV National Championship under 23 years.

The pre-selection of 37 candidates has four catchers, nine infield players, six outfielders and a staff of 18 pitchers. Roger Machado was designated to lead the team.
