Mayabeque, Cuba__ The national wrestling multi-champion Lianna de la Caridad Montero, from Güines, participates in the Youth Pan-American Wrestling Championship taking place in Lima, capital of Peru.
In the important continental fair our country is represented by three gladiators accompanied by the skilled coach Filiberto Delgado, who also serves as head of the delegation that traveled with real aspirations of being included among the medalists.
Lianna will compete this Saturday in her usual 55-kilogram division, looking for a place on the awards podium. With the same aspiration of the Guines’ athlete are participating in the event her team partners Yudaris Sánchez and Mabelquis Capote, who are part of the Cuban women who are preparing in the current Olympic cycle that will conclude in Tokyo 2020.
The only presence in the continental contest of Peru, guarantees them the right to attend the World Championship of the category, scheduled to take place in Finland from next August 1st to 6th.
