Mayabeque, Cuba: The Base Business Unit (UEB) Boris Luis Santa Coloma, of Madruga, exceeds 80 percent of the sugar production planned for the present contest.
The collective committed with the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), José Ramón Machado Ventura, to conclude on April 20 the technical economic plan and for May Day, the planned figure for the reprogramming of the sugar campaign, according to the Head of Production of the UEB, Carlos MartÃnez Donaire.
In comparison with previous stages, the results are superior, the director of Attention to Agricultural Producers of the UEB, Ana Bueno Guzmán, said.
Currently, only 25 percent of the sugarcane has to be cut, and these figures correspond to the stability of the labor force, both in manual cutting and with the machinery, Bueno Guzmán added.
The UEB has the necessary raw material to comply with the plan and contribute more than what was agreed to the province and to the global order of Mayabeque, in the current sugar harvest.
The estimates are above 103 percent and the yields are around 60 tons per hectare, something very positive, Bueno Guzmán said.
Its workers work with the enthusiasm of achieving an over fulfillment of the productions in greeting to the May Day.
