Mayabeque, Cuba: The Institute of Animal Science (ICA), located in San José de las Lajas, capital of Mayabeque, is on its way to its 55th Anniversary.

To this end, the entity complies with a program of activities, including the recognition of scientists, founders and those who maintain an upward trajectory in the service of the institution.

On April 16th, they will carry out the Encounter with the History, a meeting where founders, retirees, workers and young people will meet with the perspective of recalling the review of the center created in 1965, at the initiative of Fidel.

The ICA is a reference of animal science in the tropical area. It provides competitive products, technologies and services, trains competent professionals and has impact on the economic, environmental and social development of the country.

Among its research lines are the introduction, collection and evaluation of pastures, fodder and other crops, the improvement and characterization of animal genetic resources, the development of sustainable systems of milk production, meat and eggs, among others.

It also offers different products and services, such as: Pre and Postgraduate Academic Services, Academic Tourism, Scientific-Technical Services, Evaluation of Products and Technologies, Publications and Software.
