Mayabeque, Cuba: Jaruco has distinguished in the last two decades in Mayabeque, as a pioneer in important health studies, the incorporation of techniques, diagnostic methods and equipment that support, until today, the will to bring universal health for all and in everywhere.
The people praise the quality of the services and the professionalism of the Public Health staff in the locality, disseminated in more than 20 doctor’s offices, the Stomatological Clinic, and other institutions.
In Jaruco, the efforts to raise birth and fertility rates stand out; it is one of the municipalities with the oldest percentage in Cuba, according to Dr. Misleidis Leyva Labastida, Deputy Director of Medical Assistance in the territory.
The specialists of the Family Planning Consultation are currently assisting 21 couples together with the Assisted Reproduction Center of Mayabeque, and celebrate the fact that two of them conceived pregnancy at the close of the first quarter of the year.
At the end of 2018 the municipality ended with favorable results in the Maternal and Child Program and as relevant data, there was no transmission of HIV / AIDS or syphilis from mother to child, maternal mortality was maintained at zero, and other indicators improved.
It is worth noting the stability in the family doctor and nurse’s offices and more than twenty services in the Noelio Capote Comprehensive Teaching Polyclinic, the largest healthcare unit in the municipality.
But undoubtedly, the work of the technicians in the Integral Rehabilitation Room (almost 20 services), directed by Lillebit MartÃnez Brito, continues achieving good criteria from the people.
The way they return health and hope to patients and their families is what distinguishes the group, mostly young, but whose recipe is based on dedication and tenderness.
Today the health professionals already diagnose cystic fibrosis in the newborn and a new protocol is implemented to reduce the risks of low weight and preterm delivery in pregnant women.
A new BioLine-hCG biomedical diagnostician is also used to detect pregnancy in urine tests, and in blood exams, the presence of cervical tumors.
All this and more support the opinion of people who agree on an idea: Jaruco has the one in health.
