Mayabeque, Cuba: Madruga is included in the activities of International Festival of Danzón Habana 2019, which will take place from today until April 18, a recognition made by its organizers to the municipality for the work of preservation and promotion of dance national.

The territory will carry out a varied program of activities, in which stand out conversations about this musical genre and one of its main exponents, the maestro José Urfé González.

Children's dances, exhibitions and a concert of the saxophonist Víctor Martínez with the repertoire of Urfé will also be carried out in the context of this event in the locality.

From April 25 to 27 in the Cuban capital there will be a conference dedicated to the tradition of danzon in which Mayabeque will be represented by Professor Alina Echenique Yerena, from the University Center of Madruga, with an investigative work under the title Orestes Urfé, A Look at His Musical Production.

Orestes is one of the sons of the talented musician Urfé, and in this paper she promotes part of the almost unknown and unpublished work of his authorship.

As a culmination of the event in Madruga, on April 28, a danzón dancing will be held with the Charangas de Oro orchestra, directed by the Maestro José Loyola, president of the International Festival of Danzón.
