Mayabeque, Cuba: The Council of Ministers decided to put in force a new regulation for the commercialization of agricultural products in the province of Mayabeque.

In mid-August, the regulation that has as subjects the state companies involved in the commercialization of agricultural products, the Basic Units of Cooperative Production (UBPC), the Cooperatives of Agricultural Production (CPA) and the credits and services ( CCS), will enter into force, Juventud Rebelde publishes.

According to Decree No. 355 of April 17, 2019, fresh and processed agricultural products will be sold, with the exception of meat from equine, bovine and buffalo cattle, fresh milk and its derivatives, coffee, honey from bees, except for meliponas or the earth species, twisted tobacco and cocoa and its derivatives.

In its article No. 6, regarding the fulfillment of the commitment with state institutions, the regulations specify that the commercialization in a free way of agricultural products will be carried out after the fulfillment of the commitments with the state institutions in quantity, quality, assortments and in the established period.

In the markets of the retail network and in the points of sale, they will sell fresh or processed agricultural products and charcoal. As a complementary activity, they will provide a gastronomic service for the sale of fruit and vegetable juices and guarapo, for which they must meet the sanitary conditions established in Cuban food hygiene regulations.

It also establishes as management modalities: the agricultural markets with administration and state management, those managed by non-agricultural cooperatives, those of supply and demand, belonging to the commerce and gastronomy companies and leased markets.
